LIP AND
TONGUE TIES
Consultations for
Lip and Tongue Ties
Our pediatric specialists are trained to diagnose and treat lip and tongue ties in infants, children, and adolescents. You may have been told that your child has a “lip-tie” or “tongue-tie”. During our consultation we will help determine whether the anatomy is normal or abnormal and whether or not there is a functional problem. Following careful examination, we may recommend a laser procedure and will review the risks and benefits in detail.

Benefits of Laser Procedures
Laser dentistry is often less painful than completing procedures with a blade or scalpel. There is also less bleeding and less post-operative discomfort. Tissues generally heal well following these procedures and there is very little risk of infection or other problems.
Other Laser Procedures
In addition to treating lip and tongue ties, our team uses dental lasers for the following procedures: exposure of unerupted teeth for orthodontics, gingivectomy (removal of excess gum tissue), gingival recontouring, biopsies, and mucocele removals.
