PREPARING FOR YOUR CONSULTATION
Many children visit the dentist for routine care, including dental cleanings and examinations. However, there are many appointments scheduled when parents have a specific concern. The specific concern could be cavities, a problem with the developing bite, dental pain, discoloured teeth, among others. We also see many children for second opinions regarding treatment.
During your consultation, our dentists will meet with you and your child, take a history, and complete an examination. If required, we may recommend taking radiographs (dental x-rays.) Our x-ray system is digital and has calibrated settings to reduce radiation exposure to children.
We will then arrive at a diagnosis and provide treatment options. These options are discussed in detail, including risks and benefits. It is important for the parent to understand the different treatment options. We will also review the fees associated with each option. If you have dental insurance, upon request, we would be happy to submit an estimate to your insurance company.
At Brite Bite, we offer comprehensive pediatric and orthodontic care. For treatment of cavities, this may include composite (white) fillings, stainless steel crowns, zirconia (white) crowns, nerve treatments such as pulpotomies, extractions, and space maintainers.
We also treat children under various levels of sedation ranging from nitrous oxide “laughing gas”, oral sedation, and general anethesia/treatment asleep.
To prepare for your consultation visit, please bring with you any previous x-rays if available. If you have any questions about your consultation feel free to contact us in advance. We look forward to meeting with you and your child.
